This article defines Psychedelic Integration as:

“Integration is a process in which a person revisits and actively engages in making sense of, working through, translating, and processing the content of their psychedelic experience. Through intentional effort and supportive practices, this process allows one to gradually capture and incorporate the emergent lessons and insights into their lives, thus moving toward greater balance and wholeness, both internally (mind, body, and spirit) and externally (lifestyle, social relations, and the natural world).”

So then what is the difference between therapy and psychedelic integration therapy? In regular therapy, unconscious material often arises through speech, somatic expressions, dream material, etc. With the use of psychedelics, the unconscious material is often laid before the client in a clearer, more manifest manner. Instead of searching for the unconscious material in regular therapy, with psychedelic experience the material is often presented to the client as large window into a part or parts of one’s psyche.

With Psychedelic Integration Therapy (PIT), the client and therapist explore the unconscious material that has come to consciousness through use of psychedelics. The work of PIT for the clients is how to make the best use of this information in one’s life.
